Did not attend TiE ISB Connect

No I did not go there though I initially thought that I would be there. A few days before the event I decided to skip it  as something else had cropped up. Anyway as I had suspected the event was drab, friends who attended confirmed. The regular dosage of beating around the bush and a  leading VC self promoting their portfolio investments.

Making it a three day event only derided value as by the third day the complete enthusiasm has drained out for everyone involved.

The only two interesting folks out there who were making a lot of sense were Ajit Deora from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Farhaan of Spokn.

TiE ISB connect

TiE ISB Connect this year is happening on september 20 – 22. The dates for the event was announced last year itself but their site has come up now.It is good that they launched their seperate website now. I will be covering this event this year as well.

TiE blog

Tieboston has a blog .I don’t know when tiebangalore or tiehyderabad will start having a blog. Rajat has been trying to push for that a lot, let’s see when that starts happening. As in one of the posts the Jay author of the blog notes TiE members seemed to be scared of blogging.

TiE Hyderabad Ajit Deora Interactive session

The interactive session with Ajit Deora was quite fun. Ajit shared his experiences as an entreprenuer and a VC which was quite interesting and helpful. The audience was very small but a selective one and session were as interactive as it could get. Infact towards the end many in the audience came onto the stage and discussed their thoughts/ideas and the rest in the audience provided feedback. I have never seen such kind of interactive sessions ever and that was the best part of it. ;-). Another nice thing was that Kopos won an iPod shuffle to talk about his ideas 🙂

Rajat has a detailed writeup on the session here

Update: Kopos has another detailed post on the session
